Weather Cancellations
- When Do We Cancel A Class?
Winter weather may warrant cancelling a class. We try not to cancel any class if at all possible. Safety is the deciding factor. Our Public Works Department does a superior job at keeping our local streets cleared, as does the contractor who plows the parking lot, so many of our students can get to class without a problem. However, many of our teachers have a substantial commute, as do some of our students, so we take that into consideration in deciding whether to hold or to cancel a class.
We do not tie our cancellations to those of our school system, so we have a procedure for you to find out if we have canceled any class due to weather, summarized below.
- How Do I Know If Class is Cancelled?
To find out if class is canceled, call 781-275-4092, press ‘1’ when the main greeting starts, and the recording will tell you either that classes are on as scheduled, or will state which class(es) have been canceled.
This procedure applies to all classes when there is bad weather, and if any class is canceled, the recording is updated at least 60 minutes before the start of morning classes, and 90 minutes before the start of evening classes.
